New Fleeces

The lambs and goats have been sheared and fleeced finaly skirted, weighed, and listed for sale.

Fresh Fleeces!

I have several fresh fleeces listed and will be listing more later. I will have mohair and more Shetland fleeces as well as a few Romney fleeces later. For now I have a few Shetland lamb fleeces and some Shetland cross fleeces.

Fleece Shows

 

 

I entered these fleeces at Hoosier Hills Fiber Show in southern IN.

 

 First place on a white Coopworth X Shetland, "Henrietta".

 Second clip kid, "Indonesia"/ #613 won first place. (I never showed a mohair fleece before, their aren't too many shows for mohair.)

 

 

 

And Best of Show with...

A silver Corriedale X Shetland lamb fleece, "Iola".


I also showed a couple at Greencastle, IN Fiber Show. 

 

I won a first place with a white Corriedale X Shetland/BFL,  "Hava". (Hava should also win a prize for having the biggest lamb. He was 15.5# at birth and is close to 80# now!)



I won a second place with a 3/4 Coopworth X 1/4 Shetland lamb, "Idalia"

 

Fleeces!

I have updated my fleece page, finally. Sorry for the wait. This spring has been really late and I've been busy taking care of sheep, lambs, goats and shearing sheep/goats! Now the girls are out on pasture and I have a bit more time.

The Shetland ewes have not been sheared yet as they don't have the "rise" yet, due to the late spring. So their fleeces won't be up for some time still. Everyone else has been sheared and I will post the rest as soon as time permits.

Fleeces are Up

I have gotten my fleeces up on my fleece sale page. Sorry for the wait!

Combed Top and a Few Updates

This top is 85% blend of Merino and extra fine Corriedale with 15% kid mohair. This combed top has a nice bounce and is very lofty with just a bit of shine. This top is very comparable to Merino top, but with a bit more shine.

I just got some blue grey mohair/lambswool yarn back today and am washing it and will post some as soon as it is dry.

I will be shearing my crossbred ewes sometime in March and the Shetland ewes will be shorn sometime in April or May. I will list fleeces as soon as some sheep are shorn and fleeces are skirted.

Fleeces

I just updated my fleece page with some new fleeces. All of these jacketed fleeces and are VM free unless noted (those that do have VM are very minimal and did wear a coat for the winter hay feeding time.) I have some 6 month Cooworth lamb fleeces that I'm selling for a local flock. I may have some mohair fleeces available this spring after I go through them. Thanks!
